Hotchkiss, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: It was close to feeding time so the cows and their calves were heading for the barn. This was the last pair to come in. The calf had obviously just finished her dinner and had a little milk goatee. Mama is keeping a close eye on me. They are very protective when they have their little ones!

Thank you so much, Maria and Linda! Yes, Maria,
when I was little, we lived less than a mile from
a dairy that sold milk to the public and if you
timed it right, it would still be warm it was that
fresh. Linda, you are not the only one that fell
in love with this little one. It was pretty shaky
for a day or two, but then everything was all right.
She's a bit smaller than the others born that
week, but that just makes me love her more.

OOhhhh, I'll make Momma jealous, but I'm in LOVE with her little "Milky Mouth!" You caught all that is so precious and beautiful about Cows and their calves! GREAT shot, Kat! 10! You sure do have a WONDERFUL farm in a gorgeous area of Colorado!

If Maria (Proserpina) reads this, my husband was just saying at breakfast that the cream and cheese they had from their cow, when he was young, was like nothing I had ever tasted or could even imagine!

Have you ever had milk right after a cow was milked? Delicious! Wonderful photo.

This baby is only a few days old. She had to be started
on a bottle, because she was born outside in the
cold and was a bit weak, but as you see,
after they brought her in, warmed her up and got
her started eating, she is just fine now, and Mama
is providing all the meals!
