Caption: In the foreground are cow/calf pairs. The babies have fallen asleep in the sun, but the moms keep grazing. Onefield over is a large herd of deer that came down off the hills. The herd grew as we drove off, crossing the road in front of us. This was on Barrow Mesa, just West of town. The bigger mesa you see is the West endof Oak Mesa.
