Apparently there's a furrow in the snow in that planter (think of a double camel-hump), and the critter landed in that furrow and at first I could only see the top of her pointy little head, then she climbed up, looked around, and the next few rapidfire shots I got of her were that of her climbing up and out, then flying off.

It was literally like, "Wotnahell's all this white stuff?!?", as I think this family of 4 (1 red, 3 brown) cardinals is new, either mom'n'pop and 2 kids, or all 4 kids, so this may be their first snowstorm ever.
