Thank you all, Marijka, Elaine, Gayle, Lori, Julia, Carol, scubbiediver, Steve, Charlotte, Sharon, Randall, and James! LOL Marijka; you just need a little bit of guts and some long legs. Scubbie, I profess ignorance as to what tragic event you are referring to.

Oh, hi, Maxine, you sneaked in while I was typing! Thanks for your comment and your vote!

Thank you, approvers, for the blue!

The original Sidney Lanier Bridge........On November 7, 1972 the ship African Neptune struck the bridge, causing parts of the bridge to collapse and causing several cars to fall into the water. Ten deaths were caused by the accident. after that many more ships were to hit the bridge and was finally removed and replaced with the present beautiful span that we see today 2001-2005

Thanks, Gary, for commenting! I didn't take any chances with the vehicles, of which there weren't very many at that hour of morning anyway.

Bold and beautiful shot here Kathy. Most folks don't know you have to cross traffic and stand in the middle of the bridge to get this shot.

Thanks, John and Laura! John, there actually IS a "like" button, that little green one to the upper right of the comments box, though they don't show up nearly as well as they do on Facebook, LOL! Laura, as you know, there is a lot of pedestrian traffic on the bridge and so drivers know to watch for people and even for stopped cars in the "shoulder" lane to the right. There wasn't much traffic at that hour; thus the danger was never very great.

Kathy, thanks for the tip - I had never really noticed the green + before. And now I have used it for the first time. I wonder if you get a notification. :-)

No, you don't, John, so I don't see that it has much use. You can see that there's a number beside the plus sign, which tells you if someone has ticked it and how many, and that the sign itself has turned gray, but you can only see it on others' comments, not your own, which makes it kind of useless in my eyes. I don't see any pluses on these comments, so was it my own that you ticked? Also, you can't take it off if you make a mistake or change your mind, the way you can with Facebook. Strange way of doing things, IMO.
