Daniel, I never know how these are going to come out until I get to work on them. Usually my camera favors blues, pinks, and purples over golds and yellows, but by setting the exposure bias low enough, I can deepen the colors quite a bit even before editing to increase saturation. I sometimes tilt the color toward the red, but did not do that here. This image was taken early to midway through the sunset, the other shots a few minutes later. The later it got, the deeper the colors got (also the more blues and purples showed up), until I was able to leave some late shots completely unsaturated. This one was moderately so, which tended to bring up the golds. Yellow is the hardest color for me to control in my pictures. Thanks for your comment!

Thank you, Gayle and Pam! It was one of the best sunsets I've seen in awhile, and I was fortunate to have a good vantage point. I was going to shoot it from one of my usual spots, when a neighbor drove by and stopped to tell me where there was a better place. His advice was right on the money!
