Thanks, Jan; these are similar to the one I own but a little frillier and deeper in color, also are in a more protected spot and thus have been less affected by frost than my own.

Actually, Elaine, these are Sasanqua camellias, which bloom here in the fall. Japonicas bloom in late winter and very early spring. I have one of those which is blood red, blooms in March. Thanks for your comment!
