Storm Summary

The system will occur in two phases along an arctic cold front that will span the entire eastern two thirds of the nation. Friday night a fast moving surface Low will slide east along the Canadian border and bring exceptionally cold air and strong winds from North Dakota through Minnesota. A Ground Blizzard will develop in North Dakota where 50 mph winds will whip 6 to 10 inches of snow cover to reduce visibilities to less than a ΒΌ mile at times. Wind chill readings could fall as low as 50 to 60 below zero through Saturday morning.
