Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 3:15 PM CST on March 04, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am CST
Thursday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am CST Thursday.

* Timing: rain will continue to change over to sleet and snow from
northwest to southeast throughout the remainder of the afternoon
into the evening hours. Brief periods of freezing rain are
possible before changing to sleet. By early evening it should be
all snow north of a line from Mayfield to Calhoun Kentucky, with
sleet to the south. The sleet will change over to snow over the
remainder of the area by mid evening. Snow may be heavy at
times.

* Main impact: by early Thursday morning... snowfall totals are
expected to range from four to six inches generally north and
west of a line from Mount Carmel Illinois to Perryville
Missouri. South and east of that line... five to eight inches is
forecast with locally higher amounts possible over the
pennyrile region of western Kentucky.

* Other impacts: this quantity of snow and sleet accumulation
will produce treacherous conditions and cause significant
travel issues across the region. Isolated power outages will
also be possible. Stay tuned for updates and possible
adjustments to snowfall totals.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow and
sleet are expected or occurring. Gusty winds are also possible.
This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
