Special Statement
Statement as of 3:46 PM CDT on April 01, 2015

... Heavy rainfall possible south of I-70 from Thursday afternoon
through Friday...

A cold front will push southeast into southeast Illinois during
Thursday night... and toward the Ohio River on Friday as low pressure
deepens northeast along it. Showers and thunderstorms will develop
in advance of this system Thursday and continue through Friday.
The heaviest rain will occur between I-70 and the Ohio River from
Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Total rainfall across
this area will range from 1.5 to 2.25 inches... with locally higher
amounts possible south of Highway 50. The expected heavy rainfall
may lead to renewed flooding of some creeks and streams in
southeast Illinois by Friday. In addition... high rainfall rates
associated with thunderstorms could produce localized flash
flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas. Please keep
abreast of later forecasts and statements for updates on this
potential flooding situation.
