Wichita was hit by back-to-back snowstorms in February that altered history books in two significant ways.
- Winter Storm Q was first and buried Wichita with 14.2 inches of snow (accompanied by thunder and lightning) from February 20-21. The was the second heaviest snowstorm on record in the city and only trailed the biggest snowstorm on record by 0.8 inches.
- Just days later, Winter Storm Rocky brought an additional 7 inches of snow to Wichita. This boosted the February snow total up to 21.2 inches, making February 2013 the snowiest month on record.
For the #4 spot, we stay in the Plains.
