Do you have a particular winter weather event that has "wowed" you over the years? Perhaps you have one from this season?
Winter Weather Expert Tom Niziol (Twitter | Facebook) has assembled a list of what he thinks are the top five "wows" of this winter. Of course, with the tail end of the season still ahead of us, there is still some chance this list could change. We start in the capital of the Badger State for Tom's #5 pick.
- The storm total of 15.2 inches was the fourth greatest 24-hour total on record in Madison in records dating back to 1883.
- 13.3 inches of the storm total fell in one calendar day on December 20. This was the second biggest snow total on record in a single calendar day.
- In addition to the snow, Madison and other parts of Wisconsin dealt with blizzard conditions and wind gusts in excess of 40 mph.

For Tom's next winter "wow" we head to the southern part of the country.
