A rising moon is seen behind the Prudential Building (C), part of the downtown Boston skyline, on October 25, 2007 in Boston, Massachusetts.

(Note that official snowfall data for Boston is taken at Logan Int'l Airport.)

  • Snowiest calendar day this season:  3.2" (Jan. 16, 2013)
  • Snowfall last season:  9.3"
  • Average seasonal snowfall:  45.1"
  • Snowiest calendar day last season:  2.9" (Jan. 21, 2012)
  • Last 6"+ snow event:  Feb. 1-2, 2011 (10.4")

You read that right, it's been just over two years since Boston's Logan Int'l Airport has picked up a single 6"+ snow event.

Next, we head to New York City.
