As author McKenzie Funk discovered in his travels around the world for his recent book "Windfall: The Booming Business of Global Warming," human-caused climate change may lead to catastrophic consequences for many of the Earth's people and ecosystems, and render life impossible in some places, especially in tropical regions.

But it won't be bad for everyone and every place. "In some cases, places will benefit as things heat up – especially in Greenland, or if you're an oil driller in the Arctic," Funk said in an interview with
