Freezing rain may be on tap overnight and Tuesday..
rain from a large disturbance over the southern state continues
to edge northward and will reach areas from near southern Georgian
Bay into eastern Ontario by this evening.
As the rain encounters colder and drier air in place over the
district..temperatures may be dragged down to near the freezing
mark setting the stage for freezing rain overnight and into Tuesday.
While freezing rain may be relatively brief across areas near the
Great Lakes..indications suggest the possibility of a more prolonged
period of freezing rain especially in the Ottawa Valley.
Precipitation over far northern areas across Algonquin Park into
Renfrew may be mixed with ice pellets and snow.
Motorists should be prepared for deteriorating winter driving
conditions due to the freezing precipitation overnight into Tuesday.
Untreated surfaces may become quite icy.
Environment Canada continues to closely monitor this situation.
Freezing rain warnings may be issued later today or tonight as
conditions warrant.
