Several systems will direct weather activity across Europe on Friday.

First, in the north, a broad low pressure system will lift northward across Scandinavia with more unsettled weather conditions. Winds wrapping around the system will spread moisture inland across Norway Scandinavia, and Finland, allowing for scattered showers to persist in the northern regions of these countries and chances of light showers and cloud cover to continue in the south. Meanwhile, precipitation in the Baltic States will wind down early Friday morning as a cold front associated with this system moves into western Russia with precipitation. This front will bring showers to Saint Petersburg and small chances of light rain showers to Moscow. As the cold front moves into Russia, high pressure from the south builds into the northeastern mainland countries with drier conditions and warmer temperatures through the weekend.

Next, another storm system will begin the day churning in the eastern Celtic Sea on Friday. Wrap around winds associated with this system will spread moisture across the British Isles and across the western mainland countries as it lifts into the southern United Kingdom. This moist flow combined with warm fronts lifting across the British Isles will translate into light scattered showers in parts of the United Kingdom and Ireland. Meanwhile, an associated cold front and warm front will spread showers into northern Portugal and Spain, France, the Netherlands, and Germany.

Finally, in the southeast, a strong storm system crossing the Aegean Sea will maintain light to moderate showers, with periods of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across Greece into Bulgaria.
