Statement as of 8:52 AM HST on February 28, 2015

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the

* Flood Advisory for the island of Oahu in Honolulu County

* until noon HST

* at 842 am HST... rain gages at Punaluu pump showed heavy rain
falling at 1 inch per hour... near Punaluu... or about
15 miles north of Honolulu. The area of heavy rain was nearly
stationary.

* Other locations in the advisory include but are not limited to
Punaluu... Kaena Point... Dillingham field... Makua Valley... Turtle
Bay... Waialua... pupukea... Mokuleia... Laie... Kahuku... Kaaawa...
Hauula and Haleiwa.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Stay away from streams... drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding... reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.
Turn around... Don/T drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond noon HST if heavy rain
persists.
