Air Stagnation Advisory
Issued: 9:52 AM PST Feb. 12, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Air stagnation advisory remains in effect until 10 am PST
Tuesday...

* air quality... light winds and temperature inversions will
heighten the potential for elevated pollution levels in
central Washington Washington through Tuesday. Weak weather
disturbances will pass through Thursday night... with a
stronger cold front passage late Friday into Saturday. However
valleys near the Cascades may not receive the full benefit of
that front. Some improvement is possible but it is expected to
be short-lived before more stagnant conditions work back in.
Thus the advisory is extended through Tuesday morning.

* Impacts... burn bans may be in effect for your area. Please
consult your state or tribal authorities before burning.

* Locations... a few communities included in the air stagnation
advisory are Omak... Winthrop... Mazama... and Leavenworth.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An air stagnation advisory indicates that due to limited movement
of an air mass across the advisory area... pollution has the
potential to increase to dangerous levels. Persons with
respiratory illness should follow their physicians advice for
dealing with high levels of air pollution.
