Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 10:39 PM PST on November 21, 2009
... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM PST Sunday...
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the northern and
central Cascades until 1 PM PST Sunday.
A vigorous Pacific frontal system will bring very heavy snowfall
to the Cascades through midday Sunday. Storm total snowfall will
likely be in the range of one foot to two and a half feet. The
heaviest periods of snow will be tonight with 10 to 20 inches
expected.
The snow level will be near 3000 feet tonight... then fall to 2000
feet on Sunday afternoon as snowfall tapers off.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel hazardous or impossible. If you
plan to travel into the Cascades be prepared for hazardous
driving conditions... long delays... and Road closures.
