Nowcast | as of 9:02 am CST on February 28, 2015

Areas of light freezing rain and light freezing drizzle will continue across portions of north and central Texas through noon. A few sleet pellets or snow grains may also mix in with the light freezing rain at times. A light glaze of ice has already developed across most locations due to light freezing drizzle that occurred during the overnight hours. An additional few hundredths of an inch of ice may accumulate as an area of light freezing drizzle and light freezing rain lifts northward across north and central Texas. This will likely only exacerbate already slick and hazardous driving conditions. Motorists are urged to avoid any unnecessary travel...as numerous accidents are being reported across north and central Texas. Temperatures this morning are expected to remain at or below freezing through noon...except for areas along and east of a Cameron to Mexia to Terrell line.
