The National Weather Service in Tampa FL has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Hillsborough River near Zephyrhills.
* From late Monday night until late Thursday night.
* At 3 PM Sunday the stage was... 7.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by early Tuesday
morning and continue to rise to near 10.6 feet by Wednesday morning.The
river is expected to fall below flood stage by Thursday evening.
* Impact... at 11.0 feet... Hillsborough River State Park is closed. Lowland
flooding occurs at the Mobile Home Park near Branchton on State Road 579.
* Impact... at 8.0 feet... some State Park operations are suspended.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous
crest of 10.6 feet on Sep 7 1953.

* at 9 am Sunday the stage was 12.7 feet
* flood stage is 11 feet
* the river will continue rising to near 13 feet by early Tuesday morning. The
river is expected to fall below flood stage Thursday morning.
* Impact... at 13 feet... the canoe rental area floods.
* Impact... at 11 feet... the river overflows its banks.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 14.3 feet on Sep 26
2013.

The National Weather Service in Ruskin has issued a

* Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams in...
northeastern Hillsborough County in west central Florida...

* until 630 PM EDT Sunday

* at 930 am EDT... showers with heavy rain continued to train over
the same area where there was flooding yesterday... and more rain
is to come.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tampa...
Plant City... Temple Terrace... Brandon... Riverview... Tampa
International Airport... Hillsborough River State Park... macdill
Air Force base and greater Carrollwood.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
across flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few
inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of FL and west central Florida... including the
following in FL... coastal ... Citrus... coastal Hernando...
coastal Hillsborough... coastal Levy... coastal Pasco... inland
Citrus... inland Hernando... inland Hillsborough... inland Levy
and inland Pasco. In west central Florida... Pinellas.

* Through Monday afternoon

* the potential for excessive rainfall through Monday with
localized accumulation totals exceeding 6 inches.

* Saturated soils and the potential for additional heavy
rainfall through Monday will increase the risk of areal and
street flooding. If possible... clear drainage systems of any
debris which may become clogged in flooding rains.
