Issued: 4:31 AM EST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 6 PM EST this evening...

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect until 6 PM EST this
evening. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in effect.

* Locations... New Haven County in southern Connecticut.

* Hazard types... heavy snow.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches.

* Winds... northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Temperatures... in the lower 30s.

* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.

* Timing... snow will develop after daybreak... and continue through
the afternoon. The snow may be heavy at times from late morning
into early afternoon.

* Impacts... hazardous travel conditions are due to greatly reduced
visibilities and significant snow accumulations.

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food...
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
