Winter Storm will continue impacting eastern New England through Monday night with a combination of heavy snow and strong winds, resulting in dangerous travel conditions. In parts of southeast Massachusetts, blizzard conditions are possible along with tree damage, some power outages and coastal flooding. As of late Monday morning, winds had gusted up to 57 mph on Nantucket Island and coastal flooding was reported in several locations along the Massachusetts coast.

... Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from 7 am to 1 PM EST
Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a coastal Flood
Advisory... which is in effect from 7 am to 1 PM EST Tuesday.

* Locations... coastal locations along Long Island Sound and
Peconic and gardiners bays.

* Tidal departures... 1 1/2 to 2 ft above astronomical tides.

* Beach erosion... minor erosion along Orient Point Beach State
Park and Li Sound Beach.

* Timing... minor coastal flooding is expected for Tuesday
mornings high tide cycles.

* Coastal flood impacts... minor flooding of the most vulnerable
shore roads and/or properties due to height of storm tide or
wave splashover. Majority of roads remain passable with only
isolated closures. Any impact on property is minimal.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

Light to moderate snow will continue this evening... with isolated
areas of moderate to heavy snow possible at times. An additional 1
to 2 inches of snow is possible in any snow bands that do move
across the area.

Motorist should be on the lookout for slippery roadways and
reduced visibilities with any heavy snow... and should use caution
while driving.

Light to moderate snow will continue this evening... with isolated
areas of moderate to heavy snow possible at times. An additional 1
to 2 inches of snow is possible in any snow bands that do move
across the area.

Motorist should be on the lookout for slippery roadways and
reduced visibilities with any heavy snow... and should use caution
while driving.



602 PM EST Mon Feb 8 2016

Light snow will continue into this evening with additional minor
accumulations of 2 to 4 tenths of an inch possible. There is a
chance of light snow late this evening..into late tonight with
little additional accumulations.

Hazardous travel conditions can be expected through this evening
with reduced visibilities and light snow accumulation.
