Winter Storm will continue impacting eastern New England through Monday night with a combination of heavy snow and strong winds, resulting in dangerous travel conditions. In parts of southeast Massachusetts, blizzard conditions are possible along with tree damage, some power outages and coastal flooding. As of late Monday morning, winds had gusted up to 57 mph on Nantucket Island and coastal flooding was reported in several locations along the Massachusetts coast.

... Coastal Flood Warning in effect until noon EST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a coastal
Flood Warning... which is in effect until noon EST Tuesday. The
coastal Flood Advisory is no longer in effect. The coastal Flood
Watch is no longer in effect.

* Location... coastal areas of southern New Jersey and Delaware
and areas along Delaware Bay.

* Coastal flooding... widespread moderate coastal flooding is
expected for the Monday evening high tide and the Tuesday morning
high tide. Pockets of major coastal flooding are possible for
the Tuesday morning high tide.

* Timing... the times of high tide along the New Jersey and
Delaware oceanfront are around 700 PM to 800 PM on Monday evening
and around 730 am to 830 am on Tuesday morning. High tide on the
back bays... along Delaware Bay and along Raritan Bay occurs
later than the high tide on the oceanfront.

* Waves... wave heights are forecast to build to 5 to 10 feet on
the near-shore waters off Delaware and New Jersey. Waves on
Delaware Bay are expected to build to 2 to 4 feet.

* Impacts... roadway flooding is expected Monday night around
the time of high tide. Widespread Road flooding and some damage
to vulnerable structures is possible on Tuesday morning. Wave
action will likely result in significant beach erosion. Some
beach areas will be more susceptible to damage due to beach
erosion and damage to shore structures in late January.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Warning means that moderate or major tidal
flooding is occurring or imminent. Be prepared for rising water
levels and take appropriate action to protect life and property.
Follow the recommendations of local emergency management
officials.

Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be
deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in
danger and your vehicle may be damaged... leading to costly
repairs.
