Coastal Flood Watch remains in effect from 6 am EST Friday through late Friday night... A coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST Friday. A coastal Flood Watch remains in effect from 6 am EST Friday through late Friday night. High tide overnight is expected to cause minor tidal flooding along low lying areas. Particularly around Alexandria and Washington DC. Wisconsin Avenue river gage is expected to near 6 feet at high tide. Alexandrias river gage should rise to between 4.5 and 5 feet. Here are the times of the next high tides for a few locations from north to south... on the Chesapeake Bay... Annapolis U.S. Naval Academy... 1:33 am... Now along the Potomac River... Alexandria... 5:00 am... Indian Head... 4:28 am... |

Statement as of 9:30 PM EST on November 12, 2009 ... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST Friday... A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST Friday. A strong coastal low pressure system will maintain a tight pressure gradient across southern Maryland. As strong northeast winds over the Chesapeake Bay continue through late tonight... occasional wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph can be expected... mainly along the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Winds will diminish gradually Friday. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts in excess of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. |
