... Coastal Flood Watch in effect from Tuesday morning through
Tuesday afternoon...
The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a coastal
Flood Watch... which is in effect from Tuesday morning through
Tuesday afternoon.
At Aberdeen... the predicted high tide of 11.1 feet will occur
around 1245 PM Tuesday. Minor tidal overflow usually begins when
tides reach 13.5 feet... and widespread coastal flooding in Aberdeen
usually begins when tides exceed 14.0 feet. The combination of well
below normal atmospheric pressures... persistent and strong south
winds in the coastal waters... and waves around 20 feet... is
expected to result in tides running 2 to 3 feet or more above tide
table predictions.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for flooding
are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be alert for
later statements or warnings... and take action to protect
property.
