The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Fire Weather Watch... which is in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.
A cold front will begin crossing the Oregon Cascades late Sunday afternoon and continue moving northeast across the lower Columbia Basin through the overnight hours into Monday morning. The primary concern will be from periods of enhanced lightning activity across the lower elevation Grasslands. Rainfall amounts are expected to be relatively light. Additionally... winds will increase primarily Monday afternoon behind the front with lower humidity expected due to daytime heating. Areas north of the Horse Heaven Hills will be the slowest to experience humidity increases.
