Areas of dense fog will continue over parts of central Maryland...eastern West Virginia...northern Virginia including the Potomac Highlands and Shenandoah Valley early this morning. The fog will reduce visibilities during the morning commute to less than one quarter mile at times...before dissipating during mid morning. Use extra caution when driving by slowing down and using your low beam headlights while leaving extra distance between the vehicle ahead of you.

Statement as of 5:10 AM EDT on July 06, 2009
... Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am EDT this morning...
The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a
dense fog advisory... which is in effect until 9 am EDT this
morning.
Dense fog has lowered visibilities to below one quarter mile early
this morning across parts of central Maryland... the eastern West
Virginia Panhandle... the Shenandoah Valley... and northern
Virginia. The dense fog is expected to continue into the Monday
morning commute before dissipating during the mid morning hours.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow
down... use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of
you.
