Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 2:58 PM CDT on June 30, 2015

The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southeastern Medina County in south central Texas...
northwestern Atascosa County in south central Texas...
Bexar County in south central Texas...

* until 600 PM CDT

* at 257 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
San Antonio... Universal City... Devine... Castroville... Schertz...
Live Oak... Leon Valley... Kirby... Helotes... Alamo Heights... Fair
Oaks Ranch... Selma... Windcrest... Terrell Hills... Hollywood Park...
Shavano Park... Lytle... Olmos Park... St. Hedwig and Somerset.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
