Statement as of 5:00 PM EDT on April 19, 2015

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of
central North Carolina
eastern South Carolina
coastal waters

* effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 500 PM until
1100 PM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
a couple tornadoes possible
isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

Summary... line of thunderstorms over SC will track eastward across
the watch area this afternoon and evening... posing a continued risk
of locally damaging winds and/or brief tornadoes.

The Tornado Watch area is approximately along and 50 statute
miles east and west of a line from 45 miles north of Southern
Pines North Carolina to 50 miles west southwest of Myrtle Beach
