The Flood Warning continues for the Nehalem river near Foss. * From late tonight to Tuesday afternoon... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 8 PM Monday the stage was... 11.5 feet / 14400 cfs. * Flood stage is 14.0 feet and flood flow is 21000 cfs. * Minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... this river will crest at or just above flood stage around 4 am Tuesday. * Impact... above 14 ft... expect minor flooding of low lying farm land and structures.

* portions of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington... including the following areas... in northwest Oregon... Coast Range of northwest Oregon... greater Portland Metro area... lower Columbia and north Oregon coast. In southwest Washington... Greater Vancouver area... I-5 corridor in Cowlitz County... South Washington Cascade foothills... South Washington coast and Willapa Hills.
* Through Tuesday evening
* additional heavy rain is expected Monday night and Tuesday morning... with amounts of 2 to 4 inches in the coastal hills and South Washington Cascades... and up to 1 inch in valley locations.
* Rivers of most concern for flooding include the Naselle river in southwest Washington... and the Wilson river in northwest Oregon. Some small stream and urban flooding is also a possibility Monday night and Tuesday morning. Note that flood warnings are already in effect for the Grays and Willapa rivers in southwest Washington and the Nehalem river in northwest Oregon.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event. People... structures and roads located below steep slopes... in canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk from rapidly moving landslides.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The High Wind Warning is now in effect until 4 am PST Tuesday.
South winds will increase tonight to 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 65 or 70 mph over the Willapa Hills and north Oregon Coast Range. The strongest winds will be over the higher exposed terrain and along the western slopes. The winds will decrease Tuesday morning after the passage of a strong Pacific cold front and once a strong low off the Washington coast moves up into British Columbia.

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

... Strong winds rock Oregon coast...
The first wave of strong winds hit the coastal areas earlier in the day today... producing strong gusty south winds. In general... the strongest winds were felt on the open beaches and headlands.
Gusty winds can also be expected throughout the Willamette Valley evening as the frontal system moves closer to the coast.
High Wind Warning for the Oregon coast was issued at 151 PM Sunday afternoon and went into effect at midnight. The warning is ongoing as another round of even stronger winds is expected to impact the coast and Coast Range later this evening and tonight.
A Wind Advisory was issued for portions of the Willamette Valley earlier today.
