Statement as of 6:23 PM EDT on July 06, 2009
... Strong thunderstorms moving through the area...
* at 618 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
cluster of heavy thunderstorms over central Genesee County moving
east at 25 mph. These storms will likely produce heavy downpours
and small hail. The heaviest storms were just east of Batavia.
They will be moving into the northern section of Livingston County
and the southern portion of Monroe County through 7 PM. Towns in
the path include but are not limited to LeRoy... Scottsville... Avon
and Henrietta.
These storms have the potential to produce very heavy rain... and
could cause localized flooding of roads and poor drainage areas.
