... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect from 3 am to 10 am
EST Friday...
A coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect from 3 am to 10 am EST
Friday.
The combination of strong east to northeast winds and high
astronomical tides are expected to cause tidal piling... while
long period easterly swells will prevent drainage of waters from
the bays.
Minor coastal flooding is once again anticipated during the times
of high tide Friday morning with positive tidal departures of
2 to 2 1/2 ft expected. Flooding is expected across the South
Shore bays... and also across the North Shore. Localized moderate
flooding is a possibility.
In addition to coastal flooding... high and long period easterly
swells will likely result in high surf and moderate beach erosion
through Saturday.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
