At 1000 am...National Weather Service radar and area observations indicated a band of light snow or mixed at times with rain extending west to east across northern New York into portions of central and southern Vermont. Due to dry air in lower levels...much of the precipitation was not reaching the ground in the valleys. However...light precipitation was falling in the mountains where area webcams have shown some light accumulations in the Adirondacks. Expect on and off light snow or mixed rain and snow to continue into the early afternoon hours across the area as temperatures climb slowly into the 35 to 45 degree range. With surface temperatures warming through the day...no appreciable snow accumulations are expected below 1500 feet.
