Statement as of 3:29 PM PDT on July 05, 2009 ... Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening for gusty winds and low humidity... A Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. The strongest winds this week are likely to occur Tuesday afternoon and evening across the western Nevada basin and range. West winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph are forecast to combine with afternoon humidity of 5 to 10 percent. With fuels rapidly drying across this area below 7000 feet... potential weather conditions are conducive to rapid fire growth. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Check weather.Gov/Reno/fire for updates and possible red flag warnings. 329 PM PDT sun Jul 5 2009 ... Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening for gusty winds and low humidity... ... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening for gusty winds and low humidity... The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Fire Weather Watch... which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. A Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. The strongest winds this week are likely occur Tuesday afternoon and evening across western Nevada and Mono County California. West winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph are forecast to combine with afternoon humidity of 5 to 10 percent. With fuels rapidly drying across western Nevada... potential weather conditions are conducive to rapid fire growth. Gusty southwest winds are expected again Wednesday afternoon and evening with winds of 15 to 20 mph and gusts to 35 mph as relative humidity drops to 10 to 15 percent.
