Precipitation will tend to favor southern Union... Harding...San Miguel...and Quay counties near Texline...Sedan... Logan...and Tucumcari. Stronger storms will be capable of frequent lightning...gusty winds and penny sized hail. Rainfall amounts from two tenths to one half inch will be common with storms with locally higher amounts.

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for... southeastern Union County in northeast New Mexico
* until 915 PM MDT
* at 718 PM MDT National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated heavy rain in the Hayden and Amistad areas. This will impact small streams and arroyos flowing northward toward tramperos creek... and those draining southward toward monia creek and minneosa creek. This includes areas along state roads 402... 420... 417... and 102.
* Strong flows and high water levels are expected in arroyos... small streams and over low water crossings.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to drive through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.
