A wide area of steady light rain and scattered heavy showers and even an isolated thunderstorm...is falling across most of the southern third and eastern quarter of Minnesota...and western Wisconsin. A thick blanket of dense fog is overspreading western and northwestern Minnesota...if you are traveling that way be prepaired to slow down. The rain keeps moving north across eastern Nebraska...Iowa...and southeastern South Dakota into Minnesota and Wisconsin...with no end in sight. Thunder and lightning are occurring around Jackson and Fairmont and northern Iowa. A widespread tenth of an inch is expected over most of the southeast half of Minnesota and western west central Wisconsin. Up to a half inch could fall overnight around Fairmont...St James... New Ulm...Springfield...Windom and Worthington.
