	Frost Advisory
Statement as of 9:56 PM EST on November 06, 2009 ... Frost advisory remains in effect from 2 am to 7 am EST Saturday... A frost advisory remains in effect from 2 am to 7 am EST Saturday. In Rhode Island the frost advisory includes the cities of Narragansett... westerly... Newport and Block Island. In Massachusetts the frost advisory includes Chatham... Falmouth... Provincetown and Nantucket. Cold high pressure builds into southern New England overnight... providing cold temperatures and a widespread frost during the predawn hours. The frost advisory is confined to southern Rhode Island and in Massachusetts the Outer Cape and Nantucket... as these locations have yet to experience a killing frost or freeze. Temperatures across the advisory area will dip into the low and mid 30s just prior to sunrise Saturday. Elsewhere... temperatures will be colder with lows in the 20s. However a frost advisory will not be issued for these areas given a killing frost and or freeze has already occurred. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A frost advisory is issued when frost is expected to develop during the growing season. Those with agricultural interests are advised to harvest or protect tender vegetation. Also... potted plants normally left outdoors should be covered or brought inside away from the cold.
