numerous roads are closed due to high water. Many streams and creeks
are out of banks. Expect another one half to one inch of rain
through early this evening. This will result in further rises.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

* until 730 PM CST Wednesday/830 PM EST Wednesday/

* at 737 am CST/837 am EST/... Doppler radar has indicated that
between 1 and 2 inches of rain has fallen across the area on top of
a very saturated ground. Local law enforcement report that creeks
and streams are nearing banks. Flooding of low lying roads and
crossings are anticipated.

Additional rainfall amounts of around 1 inch through late afternoon
are expected in the advisory area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from rainfall will cause elevated levels on small
creeks and streams... and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
