... Strong winds over central and southeast Illinois on mothers day...
A deep low pressure system moved east across Illinois on Sunday morning... and into Indiana by afternoon. A very strong pressure gradient... or chance in pressure... on the back side of this system produced sustained northwest winds of 25 to 40 mph... with gusts as high as 55 mph. These wind gusts nearly matched the afternoon high temperatures... which were around 15 degrees below normal for mid may.
