Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 4:05 PM CST on February 28, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until noon CST Sunday...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and freezing rain remains in
effect until noon CST Sunday for portions of southeast Missouri
and southern Illinois... generally north of a line from Poplar
Bluff to Marion Illinois.

* Timing: snow will spread eastward into the region this
evening. It will gradually change over to freezing rain
overnight into Sunday morning. Temperatures will climb above
freezing by noon Sunday.

* Accumulations: snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches are
expected underneath less than a tenth of an inch of ice. The
higher snow amounts will be along and north of Interstate 64.

* Impacts: untreated roads will become slick and hazardous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

yesterday. This breaks the old record of 30 set in 2002.
