The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* portions of north central Iowa and northwest Iowa... including
the following areas... in north central Iowa... Humboldt and
Kossuth. In northwest Iowa... Emmet... Palo Alto and Pocahontas.
* Until 7 am CDT Wednesday
* the threat for flash flooding due to ice jams will continue
across the upper Des Moines River basin. Additional ice jams
have been reported across far southern Minnesota causing the
threat of ice jam flooding to persist downstream.
* The Des Moines River... along with the west and east Forks of
the Des Moines River will continue to rise this week with the
greatest ice jam flood potential from Humboldt and Dakota City
upstream to the Minnesota border. Ice jam flash flooding may
increase river levels several feet in only an hour or two...
rising at a much faster rate than is presently occurring.
