A Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 PM this evening to 7 am CDT Sunday.
Winds will swing around to the northwest... with the progression of the wind shift occurring from extremely late this afternoon through mid evening. Once the wind shifts... speeds will increase rapidly and will average 25 to 40 mph. A few higher gusts to around 45 mph are possible overnight tonight. It is very possible that some of the stronger winds will reach Sioux City itself by around 7 PM. Further east... the strong winds will likely reach the Spencer and Storm Lake areas by around 10 PM.
A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds of these magnitudes may cause minor property damage without extra precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use caution until the winds subside.
