Statement as of 3:39 AM CDT on May 19, 2013

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 3 PM CDT this afternoon
through Monday evening...

The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeast Iowa and southeast
Minnesota... including the following areas... in northeast Iowa... Mitchell.
In southeast Minnesota... Dodge... Fillmore... Mower... Olmsted and
Wabasha.

* From 3 PM CDT this afternoon through Monday evening

* thunderstorms will have the potential to produce heavy rainfall
on already saturated soils. The potential for 1 to 2 inches of
rain by Monday exists.

* Basement flooding... rapid rises on creeks and streams... and Road
closures are all possible from heavy rainfall and flash
flooding should it occur.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
