Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 4:04 AM MDT on September 01, 2015

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 700 am MST

* at 357 am MST... the very heavy rain that fell near the Catalina
and Rincon Mountains earlier this morning still continues to drain
into small creeks and washes. Weather radar estimates and
automated rain gages indicated 2 to 3 inches of rain had fallen
across the higher terrain... with isolated locations receiving as
much as 4.72 inches.

Heavy flows are expected on the Tanque Verde creek from Redington
pass... as well as Sabino creek.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Tucson... Tanque Verde... Seven Falls... Catalina Foothills... Mount
Lemmon/Summerhaven... Sabino Canyon and Saguaro National Park east.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Expect heavy flow in
normally dry washes. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads.
