The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a
* small stream Flood Advisory for... central Pima County in south central Arizona...
* until 630 PM MST
* at 424 PM MST National Weather Service Doppler radar depicted thunderstorms have weakened over the Tohono Oodham Nation west of Sells. However... radar indicated rainfall amounts are 2 to 4 inches just south of San Simon Village. This will mainly flow into the San Simon wash from Sam Simon to just west of Pisinimo. This flow will eventually make it south towards the Village of Santa Cruz and the Vamori wash. Thus... the Flood Advisory has been extended and this advisory replaces the previous advisory that was in effect for this area.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
This includes the following streams and drainages... San Luis wash... San Simon wash... Vamori wash... GU Achi wash... Santa Rosa wash... Hickiwan wash... Quijotoa wash... GU Vo wash and Pisinimo wash..
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels in washes and streams... and ponding of water on country roads along the banks of creeks and streams.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.
