A very moist airmass and light winds aloft covered Arizona today. Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed across the area. The strongest storms developed over southern Yavapai... central and southern northern Navajo County today.
The following is a summary of products issued by the National Weather Service in Flagstaff today:
1144 am MST... an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory was issued for the area around southeast Prescott to Wilhoit and Peeples Valley in Yavapai County. No flood reports were received for this advisory.
721 PM MST... a small stream Flood Advisory was issued for central Navajo County from about 10 miles north of Holbrook to about 20 miles south of Holbrook. Law enforcement in Holbrook reported flooding on all major roads in Holbrook.
814 PM MST... the Flood Advisory for the Holbrook area was expanded and upgraded to a Flash Flood Warning. Law enforcement in Holbrook reported flooding on all major roads in Holbrook and on the Concho Highway east of Snowflake at white Antelope Road.
921 PM MST... a Flood Advisory was issued for central Navajo Country just north and west of where the Flash Flood Warning was issued.
A funnel cloud was reported east of Holbrook at about 740 PM as the strong thunderstorms were moving west toward Holbrook.
830 PM... heavy rain (2.50 inches) from earlier storms flooded Burton Road north of Linden.
