Special Statement
Statement as of 4:40 PM AKDT on May 28, 2015

... High water levels on area rivers draining The Wood River
Mountains this week...

Even though dry conditions are expected over the next few
days... areas north and west of Dillingham have received persistent
rain over the past week... with some areas receiving an estimated 3
to 4 inches. This has resulted in high water levels on area rivers
draining The Wood River Mountains... such as the nuyakuk... Nushagak... and
wood rivers. These rivers draining The Wood-Tikchik Lake system
are likely to remain high through the next several days.

Residents and river users should anticipate high water levels
through this weekend on the larger rivers draining from The Wood
River Mountains.

Reports on river conditions in this region are encouraged... and
may be sent to the Alaska-Pacific river forecast center by
calling 1-800-847-1739.
