Synopsis For The Southern Oregon Coastal Waters
A thermal trough will bring some moderate north winds today, mainly from Cape Blanco southward. Choppy and steep seas are also expected to develop over the waters. Then winds will decrease on Friday as a low pressure system approaches. Seas will lower Friday into Saturday. Then seas are expected to increase Saturday evening through Sunday as a low pressure moves inland north of the area and northwest swell builds into the waters. Monday through Wednesday, a thermal trough will redevelop along the coast and bring the potential for moderate north winds and steep to very steep seas.

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Small Craft Advisory for hazardous seas...which is in effect from 8 am this morning to 11 PM PDT this evening.

* Seas: steep and choppy seas of 5 to 6 feet are expected to develop this morning and increase to 5 to 7 feet this afternoon and evening.

* Areas affected: Small Craft Advisory seas will mainly impact areas beyond 2 nm from shore...but will be closer near CAPES.
