Synopsis For The Southern Oregon Coastal Waters
A weak thermal trough along the coast and high pressure centered offshore will persist today into Tuesday. Then the thermal trough is expected to gradually strengthen Wednesday through Friday. Areas of moderate north winds and steep wind wave dominated seas are expected through Wednesday. The strongest winds will occur during the afternoon and evening hours in the outer waters south of Cape Blanco. Winds may increase further Thursday and Friday with moderate to strong winds developing over the waters and steep to very steep seas possible.

A Small Craft Advisory for winds remains in effect until 11 am PDT Thursday. A Small Craft Advisory for hazardous seas remains in effect until 11 am PDT Thursday.

* Winds: north 15 to 25 kt with occasional gusts to 30 kt...increasing to 20 to 30 kt Tuesday afternoon and evening...persisting through Thursday.

* Seas: choppy at 5 to 8 feet...increasing to 6 to 9 feet Tuesday afternoon and evening...peristing through Thursday morning. Seas may increase further Thursday afternoon.

* Areas affected: strongest winds will be near the CAPES and beyond 5 nm from shore from Brookings northward during the afternoon and evening hours. Steep seas will impact all areas beyond 2 nm from shore.
