Southwest winds 15 to 20 knots veering west 10 to 15 knots by mid afternoon. Cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Waves subsiding to 1 to 3 feet.
Saturday Night
North winds less than 10 knots veering northeast after midnight. Cloudy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through midnight...then a chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Waves 1 to 3 feet.

* Wind and waves during the small craft advisory: expect sustained winds of up to 28 knots from the south...with gusts up to 33 knots. The largest expected significant waves will be 10 feet with a maximum wave height of up to 14 feet possible.

* Timing: the maximum winds are expected around 8 PM EDT Friday with the largest waves expected around 1 am EDT Saturday.
